May Convocation

College of Media Spring 2026 Convocation

Students who will complete a degree from the College of Media in December 2025, May 2026, or August 2026, are invited to participate in the College of Media Convocation ceremony.

To participate in the College of Media Convocation ceremony:

• Complete the convocation registration form by April 20, 2026. You must register in order to participate in the ceremony.
• Order your academic regalia by 10:59 p.m. CT on April 13, 2026 to avoid a late fee. Academic regalia is required to participate in Convocation. 
• Check that your diploma will be mailed to the correct address. You can view your Diploma Address in Self-Service. Instructions on how to check and update this can be found on the website for the Office of the Registrar.
• Your legal name will appear on your diploma unless you choose to create a diploma name. Diploma names are displayed on diplomas and are used in graduation ceremony programs, lists of graduates, and graduation-related press releases. If you would like to create a diploma name, please email graduation@illinois.edu (include your UIN) by April 3, 2026.

Tickets are required for guests to attend convocation. Tickets are free and each student will be guaranteed up to five (5) tickets. You will receive more information in April regarding ticket pick-up dates and times and if additional tickets are available. It will be determined after registration closes if/how many additional tickets we are able to provide for those who request them. 

Please note that registering for the College of Media ceremony does not register you for the university-wide Commencement ceremony. You need to register separately for each event.

To participate in the university-wide Commencement ceremony you need to register for the ceremony by May 1, 2026.For more information please visit the Commencement website. 

If you have successfully completed the James Scholar requirements you will receive a gold honor cord to wear at the graduation ceremonies. Cords may be picked up March 9 – May 8 from the Student Services Center in 18 Gregory Hall during office hours 8:30-12 and 1:00-5:00 Monday-Friday.
